about

This was a song originally written by my band MirrorMine. That project has been put on hold due to the state of the world; so it ended up here.

This was recorded entirely at home by Nicolas Jorgensen. Artwork by Sam Kohler. Published by Forgettable Records.

lyrics

Verse:
A fog rose to the occasion,
a prince becomes a toad with one wave,
we gathered up our belongings,
back to the sky- we once fell,

Frozen clouds- acid rain
fingers linked newspeak,
intentions concealed by hide,
construction site love

Chorus:
Fear not the past is shaded,
Wrote you a love letter it should come later,
Our future's carved into a cemetery slab,
Final moments spent on sacred grounds

Verse 2:
Atonement through a pilgrimage,
Blood drops from heaven they- hit my face,
I poured my guts into a wishing well,
Life in trade for recompense,

Once a shell of what is now,
Cardboard thoughts poisoned by bullet holes,
And I forgot just what it meant,
And now I plan to find escape,

Chorus 2:
Fear not the past is shaded,
Wrote you a love letter it should come later,
Our future's carved into a cemetery slab,
Final moments spent on these fucking grounds,

Bridge with lyrics:
Take me to the corporate leopard,
Take me to some better weather,
Swallowed whole by the only sweater,
Take me to when we were together,
Forgot who I was- probably for the better....
Take me to when were together- holding hands oh oh..
Take me to the only measure that I know....
oh.. I know..

Chorus:
Fear not the past is shaded,
Wrote you a love letter it should come later,
Our future's carved into a cemetery slab,
Final moments spent on sacred grounds.
