This is a song about reflection and different important people I've had in my life. This is probably my favorite song on this record.
lyrics
Verse 1:
"I've walked away, from things, that made me feel
I revert back to the person I once was
We walked into that night with no inhibition
An empty jug we drank from a source of provender
Verse 2:
Look into, the bottom of this empty glass
Hold back your hair and the lingering scent of petrichor
Safe from the cold, body warmth, thought to portend
Holding hands, embracing lips, instead was not
{Instrumental bridge/Pre-Chorus}
Chrorus:
You poured your guts to the chime of leaves,
And in that moment I realized there's nothing left for, you, or me
You took my hand and made me believe,
Just to have that faith ripped up and destroyed right before my eyes-
All I needed was a drink, instead I got the, entire fucking sea, between the two of us
Verse 3:
Bring back the nights long awaited,
Bring back the fights we never got to finish
I wonder if our questions ever got answered-
No..probably not-
Were we headed in the right direction?? Oh oh oh ooohh....
{Instrumental bridge Pre-Chorus}
Chorus/Outro:
You poured your guts to the chime of leaves,
And in that moment I realized there's nothing left for, you, or me
You took my hand and made me believe,
Just to have that faith ripped up and destroyed right before my eyes-
All I needed was a drink, instead I got the, entire fucking sea, between the two of us..."
